I got so into Harel Skaat that I taught myself the Hebrew alphabet just to recognize his songs and download all of his discography...

Loreen for me. I bought her cd as soon as it became available.

I got into Shiri Maimon relatively quickly and now she is one of my favourite singers. Her latest album is my favourite. I also have Jelena Tomasevic's album. And I've also got music by Loreen, Sopho Gelovani and most recently Ofra Haza. Those are all my favourites to come out of Eurovision I think.

I totally forgot about Hera Bjork and Kate Ryan. I have a few of their albums too.

We're Eurovision fans, we're supposed ot be predictable shits. Only Schlager and Ballads if we have our own way!

In fairness, schlager and ballads are great (esp ballads I am a sucker for a good ballad), just in small doses, along with other things.

But for me, the obvious one is Lena, but we also have ESDM, Amandine Bourgeois, Paradise Oskar, Getter Jaani, Flor-de-lis, Pastora Soler and Marco Mengoni, among others. And that's just people that got to Eurovision, never mind National Final artists, *cough* Timoteij and Mia Diekow *cough*

I love Timoteij. "Kom" has a special place in my heart.

Loving the amount of Israel in this thread. For me, it is Ofra Haza, Noa & Mira Awad, Timoteij (if they count).

Not forgetting Didrik Solli-Tangen & family.

Ah Timoteij yes, "Vända med vinden" is perfection. Other than that, I've listened to Loreen a lot. And Eric Saade. Also Carola. (I have a knack for liking Swedish artists that many people in this fandom seem to hate but that's life I guess.) I can't come up with anyone who's not Swedish, oops. But at least my svenska is A+ now and they are (partly) to thank for. :-P

It's okay, Carola's songs are my guilty pleasure. Which is kind of odd, considering that to 'normal' people, Eurovision as a whole is the guilty pleasure.

Story time! After ESC 2006, I found the Carola CD that Invincible is on at our local library (because I come from a Swedish-speaking town and the CDs they buy in there are usually, surprise, Swedish). I loaned (((what is the difference between loaning and borrowing????? Someone help me please?))) the CD and put the songs on my mp3-player and listened to them A LOT and that's how I grew really fond of them even though I was like 11 and didn't understand half of it. Then later on I found a "Best of Carola" collection and that sealed my odd Carola liking. I blame the library because they had so few CDs and I had to get something, so. As a sidenote, her songs contain loads of useful Swedish.
